Who Can Heal?

Who Can Heal?

Guest post by Alyson Jensen

Oh, dear one, are you wounded, tired, and sore;

Assaulted by sickness, peril, death, and more?

Oh, heart, are you wicked and lying to me;

Casting me back from salvation so free?

Oh, mind, are you soiled by what you think?

Your tempting ideas bring tears to the brink.

Oh, body, you are failing and giving up on me;

I’m dying, that is plain to see.

Oh, soul, to what will you cling?

How can you find a balm in all this suffering?

Truly, someone say to me,

if there is anyone who can bring healing!

Hope now, dear one! the Healer has come!

From everlasting chains and death, He has come to save;

He bound the wounds of the brokenhearted, then His life He gave,

That mind and body and heart and soul

Might one day, in His home, be whole!

Hope now! Truly, I tell you, Jesus can bring healing!

“Your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can heal you?”
Lamentations 2:13

“The LORD heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds”
Psalm 145:3

“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we
might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have
been healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have
returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls”
1 Peter 2:24-25
