A Salute to Sisters

Without my sisters, my first finished story would never have been started.

Without my sisters, Voice of the Ashes would not take place during the English Reformation.

Without my sisters, I would not laugh so hard at the original drafts of my stories.

Without my sisters, my stories would be series of melodramatic events, with people getting ill or injured every third page.

Without my sisters, Voice of the Ashes would not have the ending that it does.

Without my sisters, the Judah’s Battle characters Dax Alaire, Alden Diesel, and Reinhardt Guntersen would not exist.

Without my sisters, Judah’s Battle would not exist.

Without my sisters, I would not have had the clarity-giving theological discussions that I needed to move forward.

Without my sisters, my manuscripts might never have been finished.

Without my sisters, I would not have had the courage to submit to publishers.

Without my sisters, my editors would have a lot more work ahead of them.

Without my sisters, my short story Marigolds wouldn’t have been born.

Without my sisters, I would not have had ridiculous, exaggerated skits of my scenes to make me laugh until I cried.

Without my sisters, I would not be an author today.

God knew that the plans He had for me were too big for me alone, so He gave me sisters.

And I am forever grateful.
